Last weekend the U18 Netball team travelled to Condover Hall for an intense GSA Netball weekend. The weekend consisted of multiple training sessions run by external coaches from Elite Netball Academy including England Netball Players Ella Bowen and Natalie Panagarry. We had 6 sessions across the weekend, all with a different coach and a different focus. We were taught a fantastic range of new skills and drills.

Following these sessions, the team were able to practice what we had learnt into 3 matches against other participating schools including Truro High School (won 18-16), The Abbey (won 21-9) and St Helen’s (lost 18-27). Despite the extremely hot weather we managed to persevere and win 2 out of the 3 matches. As a team we were particularly proud of our victories as it was the first time we had played together and were a combination of Year 10, 11 and 12 players.

In the little time we had between our training and matches, we were able to enjoy varies activities such as Archery and Laser Maze. Overall, the weekend was intense and hot but packed with fun. We have returned to FHS motivated for the start of the Netball season!
